In order to help foreign residents adjust to life in Japan as much as possible, we have started activities to familiarize them with familiar Japanese culture as a part of communication. This time, they experienced "kiri-e" (paper cut-out picture), which is very familiar to Japanese people.
At first, some foreign participants were puzzled by the unfamiliar work process, but once they learned how to do it, they seemed to enjoy making crafts.
When they finished cutting, everyone unfolded the paper at once and cheered with delight at their unique creations. We will continue to promote this kind of familiar Japanese culture in the future.
